The Bargaining Table

Emotional eating and oftentimes its by-products can be a form of negotiation.

“If I eat, then this bad thing won’t happen.”

“If I gain weight, then I’ll be safe.”

“If I stay this weight, then I’ll get this.”

So.

What are you bargaining for that you want?  And why aren’t you doing more of emotional eating to get it?

What have you successfully kept from happening, in the moment, and/or in the future by offering up what you’re offering in the negotiation?

What have you gotten from what you have given?
